Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Today is such a huge day for us; it marks the release of our new album!

We know it’s tough out there these days and money can be real tight, so we are really excited that we were able to pull together a pretty sweet deal to make the new record available for only $2.99 at Amazon. We hope you will be able to make use of that low price as it will only be for the first 24 hours today, June 1st. Everyone that buys it helps us so much and allows us to keep doing what we love. We appreciate you all more than you could ever know.

To enter, just complete ten of the following items by June 7th, all of which will be a huge help and much appreciated by us:

  • Post GOW’s “Glassroom Session” on your Facebook.
  • Use one of the AIM icons located on the GOW MySpace page.

  • RSVP to a show in your area on the Good Old War iLike page.
  • Check out GOW’s Facebook and Twitter comments. Give one either a thumbs up or a re-tweet.
  • Create your own flyer for the album or a show and post it where you can (and get permission where it makes sense). Student Unions? Message boards? Clubs? Coffee shops? Your fridge?
  • Add your favorite Good Old War song to your MySpace player.
  • Add a customer review to any Good Old War release on iTunes.
  • Add a customer review to any Good Old War release on Amazon.com.
  • Tweet, Facebook or email some friends with the link to GOW’s iTunes pre-order that features two unreleased tracks.

When you’re finished, send an email to thegoodoldwar@gmail.com listing everything that you’ve done. If you can take a screen shot or photo of what you’ve done, that will be great. If you just want to tell us, we’ll trust you, too. Include any links that you can – we’d love to see whatever you’ve got.

All runners-up will be chosen at random. The Grand Prize will be handed out to the entry that seems the all-around-coolest, so get creative!

Why they matter: After cutting their teeth as the backing band for the solo project of Circa Survive singer Anthony Green, these fresh-faced folk-rockers are poised to step into the limelight with their self-titled sophomore album, out June 1, which pairs the classy, Americana sensibilities of Cold War Kids with the Format’s pretty harmonies.
You should know: GOW’s Keith Goodwin and Tim Arnold were members of Days Away.
